Going for the Road Less Traveled

Double D – My Driving Force & Dedication

“I want to write my life story, but I don’t know where to start.”

I cannot tell you how many times I have thought of this. And probably, I am not the only one thinking about telling a story. What is my driving force? And to whom am I dedicating my story?

First, my driving force is to have an avenue to introduce the significant people in my life such as my family, friends and colleagues who shaped me to be who I am at present.

Second, aside from introducing the people that made a contribution in shaping my personality, I would also like this site to serve as a compilation of my different life events which include stages of my childhood, teenage and early adulthood years.

Third, I would like to recall the different crossroads in my life which may have delivered either a positive or negative effect not just to me but also to the people around me. For the positive events, these may be as simple as something like giving me a smile but I may have not noticed most of the time because of almost always being there to something as extreme as making myself feel challenged yet accomplished. The positive events that I am referring to may also refer to those that have helped, motivated, or inspired other people. On the other hand, for the negative events this may range to sarcastic remarks to being pushed down to the point of being depressed and demotivated. It may also include those events that I regretted because I may have inflicted pain towards others or may have acted as a bystander even if I could have done something to change the situation.

Nonetheless, whether the event contributed something positive or negative to my well-being and to others, I believe that writing my unique experiences will show nuggets of wisdom that will help me get to what really matters.

No one knows what will happen in the future. However, as I reflect on the events that happened in my past and as I realize day-by-day who I am now at present, I believe that I get a greater sense of purpose and direction in my life. This is why the fourth reason for writing this site is to show my capability, as a free-being created by God, in writing my own fate. I cannot change my past but I believe that I can decide on my next actions and the person that I will be in the future.

With the gift of life and the free-will given to me by God, the final reason why I created this site is to dedicate it to Him. I would like to reflect in how God was present in every stage in my life whether it be during happy or sad times. I also want to dedicate this to my family and friends, whose presence in my life made me feel God’s everyday mercy and love.
